A composition of flowers and patterns found in nature that appear somewhat foreign out of their normal setting. I love layering patterns almost on top of each other and letting the eye sort it out. We see this dizzying array in nature and don’t question it, but when it’s placed on a canvas or panel and out of context, our mind dares to question what it’s observing. Patterns include geologic strata formations, sporangia which are the circular spore structures on the underside of fern leaves, and a pattern that resembles both gossamer spiderweb and palm bark husk.
