acrylic on wood panel
A tulip tree bough with purple finches.
Tulip trees, which are members of the magnolia family, support a myriad of bird species from hummingbirds to woodpeckers. Purple finches feed on the seeds of the tulip tree and help to keep insect populations that impact the tulip tree in balance. These beings have nice little exchange happening. Symbiosis makes the natural world go round.
