Equipoise Totem - sold
60 x 40 acrylic on wood panel
A Bee-eater bird puzzled together with images of the butterflies and moths upon which it subsists. This is a story of a delicate ecological balance between a bird and butterflies. It’s also a reminder of the interconnected nature of our world. When one species is lost to extinction, the species that rely on it also suffer. There is a wide reaching web of reactions in the greater system. Another way to look at this is to understand that to love the birds and butterflies is to love ourselves; their wellbeing impacts us directly. Separation is an illusion.
