Primal Mandala
Does this Fear Serve Me? - sold
36 x 36” acrylic on wood panel
The first in the mandala series. Flowers draw you in and then you see the snakes. Fear is a primal reaction meant to keep us safe. But, left unchecked by the rational mind and truthful heart, fear is the root of much of our suffering. Greed is the fear of not having enough, jealousy, the fear of not being enough, and bullying, the fear of loosing control. There are many more examples. We have evolved past the need for many of these fear responses. Often our fear responses are misplaced, not based in a true threat or even a true need. When you feel yourself reacting with fear, dare to ask yourself the question, “does this fear serve me?”
About the snakes… snakes have a bad rap; they play a particularly important role in our ecosystems and are extremely beneficial to humans. Cut these little guys some slack and recognize them as sentient creatures just going about their business.
