A barn owl with two sprigs of wheat in his talons. Through rodent predation, the barn owl increases wheat yields and reduces the need for rodenticides. This in turn reduces incidences of rodent borne diseases and cancer in humans. This work is from the series “the gifts they bring” which focuses on the services animals provide the greater ecosystem and humans.
